In this course, students will look back in history, beginning in 1774, to explore Kentuckians’ understanding of and
experiences in political ideology; the structures of governmental power; class conflict and politics; race and
gender issues and politics; the partisan pursuit of power and post-modern multiculturalism and politics. The course will
also cover the Judeo-Christian understanding of tragedy, the 1981 Constitution’s shift of power and more.
