In Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing wit is a cover up for vulnerability. Shakespeare’s Benedict and Beatrice fear commitment and society ideas of what marriage is. As we work through the play, many will wish that they had been clever enough to use some of Beatrice’s retorts. Plain dealing evil villain Don John implodes the second love plot because he wants to spoil everything. Enjoy how Shakespeare’s keystone cops capture and also try the villain with some prime humor in the lines directed at their leader Dogberry.
