Location: Zoom
Maximum Enrollment: 25

The Foreign Policy Association’s Great Decisions grassroots
initiative began in 1954 and has grown to tens of thousands
participating each year. The program provides information
and a format for groups to discuss the “…most critical global
issues facing America today.” Members learn together
as they exercise critical thinking skills and share their personal
understandings of issues that are sometimes complex
and controversial. The Great Decisions workbook typically
contains eight topics, with this group discussing the first four
in the spring, and the last four in the fall. The topics for the
Spring 2021 SIG are the following: Global Supply Chains and
National Security, Persian Gulf Security Issues, Brexit and the
European Union, and Struggles Over the Melting Arctic. SIG
members are encouraged to purchase the Great Decisions
2021 Briefing Book (available at, as well as Amazon for
a Kindle version).
