Elvis Presley may have been the King of Rock and Roll, but
five major artists were seminal in making the music more
mainstream for radio and younger audiences in the late 1950’s.
Little Richard, Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry and
Buddy Holly forged the road to assuring the world that “rock
and roll is here to stay.” This 2 week course will be a chance
to learn about these five pioneers, their musical contribution
to Rock and Roll and their legacy and inspiration left for
generations of musicians to follow.
