This course will provide information about some of the most
common illicit drugs – i.e., “street drugs.” There will be a
brief introduction to the Controlled Substances Act and a
summary of national drug trends. Then we will discuss the
characteristics, effects, and forms of the main types of street
drugs, including narcotic analgesics (opiods), stimulants,
depressants, cannabis, hallucinogens, dissociative anesthetics,
and novel psychoactive substances. No science background is
required.
