The Foreign Policy Association’s Great Decisions grassroots
initiative began in 1954 and has grown to tens of thousands
participating each year. The program provides information
and a format for groups to discuss the “…most critical global
issues facing America today.” Members learn together as they
exercise critical thinking skills and share their personal understandings
of issues that are sometimes complex and controversial.
The Great Decisions workbook typically contains eight
topics, with this group discussing the first four in the spring,
and the last four in the fall.
The topics for the Spring 2023 SIG include:
• Lesson 1: Energy Geopolitics
• Lesson 2: War Crimes
• Lesson 3: China and the U.S.
• Lesson 4: Economic Warfare
SIG members are encouraged to purchase the Great Decisions
2023 Briefing Book (available at fpa.org, as well as Amazon for
a Kindle version).
